UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS
SPECIAL MEETING – JULY 26, 2006 – 7:03 A.M.
A Special Meeting of the Corsica Board of Education was held on Wednesday, July 27, 2006 at 7:03 A.M. The purpose of this meeting was to canvass the opt out election poll book and other items as brought before the board.
Board Members Present: Garry Bultje, Vice-President; Jeremy Wright, Bob Bamberg, Dick Bordewyk, Vanessa Miiller.
Members Absent: Don Oakland and Doug Reimnitz
Officers Present: Vern DeGeest, Superintendent and Merna Bye, Business Manager
Vice-President Bultje called the meeting to order at 7:03 a.m. and a quorum was present.
Motion by Miiller seconded by Wright to approve the agenda as presented. Carried.
The board canvassed the Special Election Opt Out Poll Book and re-cap sheet. Motion by Wright seconded by Bamberg that all presented look accurate. Motion carried.
Discussion was held on the football scoreboard. It was decided to revisit this item next budget year.
Bids were presented for fuel oil for school year 2006-2007.
Heating Fuel Oil - #2 – Two contract bids were received -
Country Pride Coop – Wagner United Energy – Mitchell
Transport Load – High School $2.38 gallon Full pre-pay $2.63 gallon
Country Pride Truck – Elementary $2.45 gallon 10 cent per gallon pre-pay $2.68 gallon
No Money Down $2.73 gallon
Motion by Miiller seconded by Wright to accept the firm bid from Country Pride Coop – Wagner for #2 heating fuel oil for the school year 2006-2007. Carried.
Further discussion was held on CBM presenting a proposal to provide meals for the school. This will be looked into further for the near future. Interviews will be conducted to fill the cook position open for 2006-2007 school year.

Motion by Bamberg seconded by Bordewyk to accept the resignation withdrawal from Mark Joachim as assistant volleyball coach for school year 2006-2007. Carried.
Discussion was held on welcoming families outside the Corsica District into the Corsica School System.
There being no further business, at 8:00 a.m., motion by Bamberg seconded by Miiller to adjourn. Motion carried.
