UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2013 – 8:05 P.M.

CLASSROOM A OF THE CORSICA HIGH SCHOOL

A Special Meeting of the Corsica Board of Education was held on Wednesday, August 29, 2013 at 8:05 p.m. Purpose of this meeting was to act on a staff resignation, a new hire and football and track project update.

Members Present: Jeremy Wright, Bob Bamberg, Vanessa Miiller, Kent DeBoer, Jason Lagge, Nicole Bamberg and Jared Gerlach.

Officers Present: Vern DeGeest, Superintendent and Merna Bye, Business Manager

Guest Present: Kris VanZee, Globe Reporter

President Wright called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. with a quorum present.

Approve Agenda

Motion by Bob Bamberg to approve the special meeting agenda. Seconded by Nicole Bamberg and carried.

Accept Resignation – Talley

Motion by Bob Bamberg seconded by DeBoer to accept the resignation of Title I Instructor Katrina Talley effective Friday, August 30, 2013. Carried.

Approve New Hire for Title I Administrator/Instructor - Gillette

Motion by Nicole Bamberg seconded by Lagge to approve the signed contract of Kristine Gillette for the Title I Administrator/Instructor position for the 2013-2014 school year at the annual rate of $32,000.00. Carried.

Approve Severance Pay – Talley

Motion by Lagge seconded by Gerlach to approve the 1.78125 unused severance pay for Katrina Talley

Carried.

Football and Track Project Update

The board was updated on the progress of the football and track project. Motion by Miiller seconded by Bob Bamberg to approve the placing approximately 8 feet of sod on the east and west sideline to the track. Motion carried.

Adjourn

There being no further business, at 8:48 p.m. motion by Lagge seconded by Nicole Bamberg to adjourn. Carried.
