MINUTES OF THE CORSICA AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (CAF)

April 1, 2003

A meeting of the Corsica Area Community Foundation was held at Cheryl’s Place on Tuesday, April 1, 2003.

Those present were Cheryl Van Zee, Dick Bordewyk, Gary Van Roekel, Sylvia Zomer, Mark Spitzenberger and Roger Bordewyk.

The CAF meeting was called to order by Roger Bordewyk.

Minutes of the previous meeting were distributed, read and approved.

There was discussion in regard to getting the individuals that are capable of matching $25,000 to help get the ball rolling. We need to have $50,000 by July 1^st to get the matching $12,500.

Dick suggested that we should challenge these individuals. Asking them to donate $25,000 and we would come up with the other $25,000. Discussed how would be the best way to approach them and to have special people approach them.

Also discussed meeting with Sioux Falls people to get things moving.

Discussed letter to alumnists. Was decided to first get some donations started. Then we can tell them how much we have and what our goals are. Also to possibly challenge them to donate personally or by class.

Gary was going to talk to Dwight Beukelman about meeting with the Sioux Falls people.

Gary is going to take care of the lumberyard bill for the sign. Roger took care of the sign painting.

Next meeting will be April 10, 2003 at Cheryl’s Place at 7:00 AM. Everyone is to have a list of names that they would be good possible donors.
